- Description
- In accordance with FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b) the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole-source purchase order to Tim Marsh c/o National Heart Forum, London, United Kingdom (UK). The contractor has developed a software program with which to estimate future prevalence of and health care expenditures for obesity in the UK. The software also produces forecast estimates of the prevalence under different intervention scenarios. The CDC has found that the software is adaptable to accommodate U.S. data. The forecast estimates produced with this software will deal with a critical public heath issue here in the U.S. This contract/purchase order will support the work of the CDC in the strategic planning of obesity intervention efforts and it will inform CDC in future projects on the subject of forecasting the cost effectiveness of intervention strategies. The National Heart Forum is the only organization that can provide the software support and modifications to meet all of CDC program requirements. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the CDC not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the government.
