- The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Rapiscan Security Products, Inc, Hawthorne, CA to provide maintenance & repair for the Rapiscan Model 520 X-Ray system and Rapiscan Model 527 X-Ray system located at Hines Information Technology Center (ITC), Fifth Avenue & Roosevelt Road, Building 215, Hines, IL 60141. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 561621. To the best of our knowledge, due to proprietary software and existing hardware, Rapiscan is the only vendor who can provide these services. Contractor must have certified technicians that have been authorized by the manufacturer to provide this type of services required as defined herein. Contractor must also have access to all replacement parts required during the maintenance & repair of this security equipment in order to meet the uptime requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Office within (seven) 7 calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Rapiscan Security Products, Inc.
