- THIS IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY, NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR SOLICITATION. The Food and Drug Administration, Jefferson Laboratories, in Jefferson, Arkansas, is seeking business sources, including service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone small businesses, and 8(a) certified companies. The following information is provided to assist the FDA in conducting Market Research to identify potential contractors for this effort: The government is seeking capability statements from companies that are capable of providing the following system, as described below. The Division of Personalized Nutrition and Medicine is developing a strategy and methodology to improve healthcare for individuals. As a part of this plan, the government needs instruments and methodologies for genetic analyses of an individual’s ancestry (through genotyping) and capability of analyzing modifications of DNA (epigenomics) which have been implicated in short term and long term health. The proposed system shall be a complete SNP genotyping and gene expression solution for such studies. The system shall meet the following requirements: 1.The system should be a high through-put platform that is a complete SNP genotyping and gene expression solution featuring microarrays configured for standard, custom and whole-genome genotyping applications along with standard, custom and whole-genome focused arrays for gene expression. In addition, it also can be upgraded to perform epigenetic analysis. 2.Capable of processing DNA or RNA with a successful call rate of >95% 3.System requires 250 nanograms or less amount of DNA for genotyping assays 4.System shall have at least 0.8 micro scanning resolution laser scanner 5.The system capable of high specificity of hybridization by allowing ~60 nucleotides or longer as a probe. 6.Custom genotyping on large sample batches should be performed for less than $0.10 per genotyping (including kits and reagents). Potential contractors must indicate business size, proof of any set-aside certification and company’s DUNS number and provide a contact name, the mailing address, phone number and email address of point of contact. Capability statements must provide enough information to determine if the company can meet the requirement. At a minimum provide the following: all descriptive material necessary for the government to determine whether the product offered meets the technical requirements including: technical specifications, descriptive material, literature, brochures and other information corresponding to each item, which demonstrates the capabilities of the contractor’s equipment. Potential contractors are to provide contact information for references that currently use the system being offered.
