- The Contracting Center of Excellence (CCE) on behalf of the the US Army Information Technology Agency (USAITA) Data Center Services Directorate intends to award a Sole Source Contract to IBM Global Services Federal, 6710 Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD 20817. The USAITA mission provides automated data processing and information technology support to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Headquarters United States Air Force (HQUSAF), and Department of Army (DA). This support includes the installation and maintenance of a centralized information technology (IT) center oriented around enterprise servers running IBM MVS, VM and AIX proprietary operating systems, database management systems, backup and recovery systems and communications systems software. The USAITA has ongoing requirements that consists of Computer software licenses for the inventory listed in the bid schedule. The Licensing of IBM proprietary MVS, VM, and AIX Operating System Software, Database Software, Communication System Software and other software products. This software is identified by the IBM product numbers which currently reside on the IBM 9672-R24 (S/N 44694), the IBM 9672-R41 (S/N 40747), the IBM 9672-RC6 (S/N 43584) processors, and the IBM pSeries 660 server. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate the required services with only one source IAW with FAR, Part 8.405-6. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all capability statements of no more than 10 pages received by 10:00 a.m., 17 June 2008. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
