Description
Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army RDECOM Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to The Center for the Contemplative Mind in Society, located in Northampton MA 01060. The Center for the Contemplative Mind in Society will prepare a scoping review of literature for evidence that mindfulness training and related contemplative practices might provide Army medical and Chaplain Caregivers with capabilities that increase their resiliency to compassion/provider fatigue and sustain high quality encounters with Soldiers and family members. They will convene mindfulness meditation and contemplative neuroscience subject matter experts (scientists and practitioners) for a one day symposium with Army leaders to inform decisions about research priorities related to the use of mindfulness training and contemplative practices with caregivers, soldiers, and family members. Also to provide experienced mindfulness based practitioners / trainers for 3 day mindfulness based training event for an exploratory research study. Their work has been successful in integrating contemplative practices into the fields of law, higher education, and business. The Center for the Contemplative Mind in Society has demonstrated the capacity to produce research study products and training deliverables for diverse audiences. The contemplativemind.org is not affiliated with any particular religion but is committed to the value and insights of all spiritual and wisdom traditions and their associated forms of contemplative practice. The contemplativemind.org advisory board is composed of distinguished national leaders in fields of neuroscience and contemplative practices and is socially networked to bring a broad base of knowledge capital and human resources to this study. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement to the U.S. Army RDECOM Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, via e-mail at stephen.abate@us.army.mil.
