Description
Notice: This amendment does NOT change the Offer Due Date of June 18, 2008. Driving simulators are required for training purposes, not entertainment. Paragraph 1 of the Primary Work Statement is corrected to state Nine driving simulators vice Eight driving simulators to match the nine sub line items. Anwers to Questions: 1. Are the simulators representing car, truck and/or tank type vehicles? A. The simulators are for cars and light trucks (pick ups) 2. How large must the driving area be? A. The driving area should represent normal city and rural driving conditions that would be encountered during a commute to work or school. 3. Can we get more information on the type of driving area that is needed: military base, airport, city, rural? A. City and rural 4. Must the driving area be exact geospecific for each location, or generic? A. Provider should provide geospecific for both, US and host nation scenerios. 5. Must the simulator have computer-automated scoring? A. Desirable but not required 6. Does cabin-style means half-open cabin? A. Full or half is acceptable. 7. Are all cabins the same for all locations? A. The cabins do not have to be the same for all locations but standardization is desirable. 8. Can software interface/manuals/documents/training be in English only? A. English is required. German and Italian for local use is desirable not required. 9. What means FFP? A. FFP is Firm-Fixed-Price. This is the contract type meaning the price of the contract will not change after it is awarded. 10. How urgent is our offer? A. See Paragraph 1 to ADDENDUM TO FAR 52.212-4. Required delivery time to be considered technically acceptable is 90 days after award. However, 60 days after award is desireable. 11. Which kind of cabin (generic, real mock-up) and Motion system required (which degrees of freedom etc.) A. The evaluation of offers is Lowest Price Technically Acceptable. If you wish to offer a high end product for the cabin type or degrees of freedom, please keep in mind that a lower priced offer from a competitor may be accepted, as long as it meets the minimum technical specifications of the Primary Work Statement. 12. Customized geo-specific databases required? A. See answer to Question #4 above. 13. Given the range devices that may be offered (probably from low end desktop to high end motion based devices) we may be non-competitive if the budget was determined based on low to medium fidelity equipment. A. The evaluation of offers is Lowest Price Technically Acceptable. 14. We would like to prime the bid from our German division rather than our US division. Is this acceptable? A. It is acceptable for either, your Germany or US divisions to submit a quote. 15. We would like to answer the bid and we need to understand what are you expecting - only economical answer with basic technical ? or just economical? A. This is Lowest Price Technically Acceptable. As long as it is technically acceptable in accordance with the PWS, then the lowest price will be selected. 16. Do you need anything special for international company like us - from Israel? A.
