- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Coordinating Center for Infectious Diseases (CCID), National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD and TB (NCHHSTP), Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention (DHAP) seeks to award one Indefinite Quantity Contract (IDIQ) to an offeror to provide medical laboratory services. The contractor shall provide information on the performance of HIV screening tests and perform the following tasks: quantifying the rate of false-positive results for IgM Sensitive ("3rd Generation") HIV screening tests conducted on at least 200,000 pregnant women and 200,000 others testing for HIV; identifying specimens from pregnant women and others with a false-positive HIV screening assay which do not confirm as HIV-infected using an FDA-approved supplemental test; and conducting additional HIV tests to evaluate alternative strategies to more expeditiously resolve discrepancies in HIV test results. The period of performance for the prospective award will be twenty-four (24) months from the date of contract execution. This requirement is anticipated to be a full and open competition under North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code 621511. Further instructions will follow in the Request for Proposal. A Request for Proposal will be made available on the Internet at http://www.fedbizopps on or about June 25, 2008. Requests for Proposals in hard copy form will not be available. Telephone requests will not be honored.
