Description
The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center has a requirement for various Fairbanks Morse parts and services for Fairbanks Morse Engine Model No. 38TD-1/8. The engine is installed for main propulsion on the U.S. Coast Guard 378 FT WHEC Class Vessels. Delivery shall be on going after receipt of delivery orders and destination to the various U.S. Coast Guard Units. A requirements type contract with one (1) base year and four (4) option years is anticipated. It is the Government’s belief that only BF Goodrich, Fairbanks Morse Engine Division possesses the required capabilities to manufacture engine parts that are compatible and interchangeable with Fairbanks Morse Engine Model No. 38TD-1/8. All reproduction manufacturing drawings, specifications and other technical data pertaining to the various engine parts are not available within the government and are proprietary to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), BF Goodrich, Fairbanks Morse Engine Division. However, other potential sources having expertise and required capabilities can submit such data discussing the same in duplicate within 15 days from date of this announcement. The following information must be provided to evaluate the acceptability of the offered parts: 1) Complete and current engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability of the offered parts (i.e. salient physical, functional characteristics or 2) Data that offered parts have been satisfactorily manufactured for the Government or the original equipment manufacturer. No cost or pricing is required. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the agency.
