- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial itemsprepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplementedwith additional information included in this notice. This announcementconstitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and awritten solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document,incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC97-20. The solicitation number is for FA8104-08-R-0310. Thesolicitation is a request for proposals (RFP). Closing date forproposals is 27 June 2008 until 3:00 PM. Proposals will be received atthe issuing office. Qualified sources are GEES, Cincinnati, OH,(062W2), Chromalloy Component Services, San Antonio, TX (1LKE) andSnecma Services, France (F6048). FORM/FIT/FUNCTION DESCRIPTION: The exciter unit provides adual spark to the main and afterburner igniter plugs, which ignites theatomized fuel air mixture. This is accomplished by an intenseelectrical spark. Predominant Material or Manufacturer: Corrosionresistant steel.
