Description
The Contractor shall provide certified installers, all labor, tools, materials, supplies, transportation and equipment to accomplished construction of one 53,000 gallon GLASS FUSED TO STEEL, BOLTED MUNICIPAL WATER STORAGE TANK at the Sunrise Area inside Mount Rainier National Park, according to attached specification in section "C". Site will be ready to install Water Storage Tank.Site is accessible by road and located approx. 50 miles east southeast of Enumclaw, Washington via SR 410 and the White River/Sunrise Road. Glass-fused-to-steel tank products, as provided by any manufacturers, will be subject to pre-bid approval by the Engineer. The Engineer's decision or judgment on these matters will be final, conclusive and binding. Send glass-fused-to-steel product specifications to Contracting Officer, joann_palmer@nps.gov.In order for alternate equipment to be considered an "approved equal", prospective suppliers must make a pre-bid submittal as detailed in the following paragraphs and make it available to the design engineer fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the time of bidding. Strict adherence to the standards of design; fabrication; erection; product quality; and long term performance, established in this specification will be required by the Owner and Engineer. A list of approved alternate equipment shall be forthcoming from the engineer five (5) calendar days before proposals are due.Tank suppliers wishing to pre-qualify shall submit the following to the Engineer/Owner for consideration:Typical structure and foundation drawing(s).List of tank materials, appurtenances and tank coating specifications.List of five (5) tanks presently in potable water service designed to AWWA D.103 Standard, of equal or greater size and character specified herein, operating satisfactorily for a minimum of five (5) years, including the name and phone number of owner and Engineer. Only proposals from tank suppliers who have successfully pre-qualified will be considered. The Engineer reserves the right to evaluate all proposals based on long term, 40 year minimum operation, coating and maintenance costs. Values to be used in this evaluation will be at the discretion of the Engineer, as detailed in this specification and bid tabulation form. The Engineer will add such costs, dependent upon the type of tank offered, to the bidder's price to determine the effective low bid for purposes of making the award. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $100,000 and $250,000.
