DESCRIPTION FOR THE M42A2 HOSE ASSEMBLY NSN: 4720-01-515-9261, Part Number: 5-1-2756-30. DESCRIPTION FOR THE M45 HOSE ASSEMBLY NSN: 4720-01-445-3691, Part Number: 5-1-2756-20. THE HOSE ASSEMBLIES CONSIST OF: SWIVEL ELBOW, SWIVEL KNOB, O-RING SEAL, SUPER-O-LUBE, ELBOW, HOSE OXYGEN HOSE CLAMP, HEAT SHRIKABLE INSULATION SLEEVING. The M42A2 Mask Hose Assembly and the M45 Mask Hose Assembly are identical except for the M45s nylon strap assembly. Those hose assemblies, approximately 32 inches long, are life support items allowing the C2/C2A1 canister, which filters the air to the mask user, to be worn away from the mask facepiece. The Hose Assembly includes the ribbed hose itself, which is made of EPDM rubber and is approximately 24 inches in length and 1.2 inches in diameter. At each end of the hose are molded nylon plastic threaded connectors that are secured to the hose via metal clamps. Each attached clamp is subsequently covered/protected with a heat shrink polyolefin electrical insulation sleeve. One end of the hose attaches via the female threaded connector to the canister and the other make threaded connector end of the hose attaches to the sideport opening of the mask facepiece. The hose component is required to pass leakage testing and the hose material is required to pass first article agent permeation testing. Both hose assemblies require and EPDM rubber port gasket. The M45 Mask Hose Assembly requires a nylon strap assembly, with slide and buckle. This solicitation is issued as a five year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity, Firm Fixed-Priced Contract. First Article Testing is required, but may be waived. FOB Destination. This is a best value procurement, past performance and technical factors will be evaluated along with price. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
