- This is the first pre-solicitation notice. Another notice will be issued again prior to the release of the solicitation and will be called the synopsis. The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, located in Annapolis Junction, Maryland anticipates issuance of a solicitation for the construction of an emergency generator building with generators and switchgear at the Federal Correctional Institution located in Memphis, Tennessee. The successful contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment and expertise for the construction project. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This project is a total 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this requirement is 236220 which contains a size standard of $31 million. The period of performance for the resulting contract is 365 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Any contractor interested in obtaining a contract award with the Federal Bureau of Prisons must be registered at www.ccr.gov and http://orca.bpn.gov. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. The successful contractor shall be responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes. There are no tax exemptions. The issuance of solicitation IFB MEM-0003 will be on or about July 16, 2008. The solicitation will be distributed through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities web site at www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
