- Description
- The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, 700 Robbins Ave, Philadelphia PA 19111, intends to procure on a sole source basis with Eklin Medical Systems, Inc. to provide a portable digital radiographic system for Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, TX. Eklin shall provide a unit housed in a rugged, weather-resistant case that weighs less than 20 pounds. The unit will have a shock-mounted hard drive, removable CDRW/DVD, AccuStitch, mechanical waterproof membrane keyboard, and a touch screen. The unit will be portable and will not require installation. It has been determined that Eklin is the only manufacturer capable of meeting this requirement. The Eklin model has the characteristics that are unique and necessary for use at the CAV stables. The statuatory authority for this sole source purchase is Title 10 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) as implemented in the FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). This notice is for informational purposes only; no formal solicitation will be issued as a result of this announcement. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit technical information in response to this notice via email to the address listed below, no later than June 19, 2008 at 3:00pm eastern standard time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is entirely in the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received by this date, a sole source contract with Eklin Medical Systems, Inc. will be pursued.
