Description
This is a sources sought announcement for written information only. This is not a solicitation for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. No telephone calls will be accepted. In preparation for a future procurement, The Naval Facilities Expeditionary Logistics Center (NFELC) is seeking the procurement of two hundred and fifty (250) 400 Gallon Portable Water Tanks (WT), constant with requirements / specifications as stated in the attached Statement of Work. The WT shall be transporting potable or non-potable water on highways and cross-country terrain. The water tank is constructed of stainless steel with double walls. There is two inches of insulation between the walls. It is equipped with dispensing equipment consisting of four bronze faucets, a rear self-drain faucet and brass piping. A shut-off valve is provided to complete the drainage from the exterior plumbing. A manhole is located on top of the water tank to provide access for bulk filling and cleaning. The trailer is also equipped with a bracket at the manhole to allow for heating of the water with the standard M67 Immersion Heater. The trailer can be towed on highways at 50 MPH and cross-country at 30 MPH by a 2 -Ton prime mover or larger vehicles. The WST shall contain tools, machinery, and expendable supplies necessary to perform these processes. The WST shall be capable of continuous field deployment in a wide variety of environmental extremes and rough terrain. Rough terrain capability is a critical performance parameter. Respondents should provide the following information about providing a WT: Name and address of company, company point-of-contact with phone and fax number (email address if available), narrative description of their solution and/or proposed Portable Water Tanks. In the information narrative, NFELC is particularly interested in the physical Characteristics, Environmental Conditions, Transportability, Design and Construction as well as Materials, Processes and Parts. There should also be sufficient detail to allow the government to determine the state of quality assurance and control of the manufactured items/processes. Responses to this announcement will serve as a first step for evaluating alternatives. This announcement is not a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. The applicable NAICS codes are 33612 Heavy Duty Truck Manufacturing, with a size limitation standard of 500 employees. Interested sources must submit any comments and information via email to frank.sanchez4@navy.mil no later than 27 June 2008. Responses received after this deadline may not be considered. Since this is a sources sought announcement, no evaluation letters will be issued to the participants.
