- The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) on behalf of the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL), Quantico, VA intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract to Compagnie Industries Des Lasers CILAS of 8, Avenue Buffon Orleans France to procure and provide two (2) Sniper Laser Detection (SLD-500) counter-sniper systems. The systems will include the tracking head, tripod cables, 110 volt/60 Hertz power supply, Man-Machine interface (computer), English language operation and maintenance manuals, essential spare parts, and unique tools and gauges.The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 333314. The Contractor is required to provide customs clearance documents for the exportation of the SLD-500s to the United Stated in accordance with the requirements and laws of the Republic of France. The Compagnie Industrielle Des Lasers (CILAS) sniper Laser Detection (SLD) 500 is a new technology counter-sniper system being tested for use by the French Army that could be immediately useful to United States forces engaged in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is MCWLs intent to test this hypothesis via experimentation.This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and a solicitation document will not be made available. However, interested parties may identify their interest and are encouraged to submit capability statements, to include associated technical data, for the systems proposed no later than 26 June 2008 to Commanding General, Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Code 029, 2200 Lester Avenue, Quantico VA 22134-6050 or via email to delzoria.hawkins@usmc.mil.
