- The VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source buy with Hitachi High Tech AM, Inc., of San Jose, CA for equipment associated with the Central of Statin Dependent, Neuro-Protection in Experimental Glaucoma, in connection with project objectives of the VA Research Department. To the best of our knowledge Hitachi High Tech AM, Inc., of San Jose, CA is the only manufacturer of a product (L2130 Hitachi La Chrom HPLC System equipped with a L2400/L2420 UV/Vis Detector) which is the only project that is equipped with unique PASS features that minimize retention time variations between samples, uses EPIC technology to deliver precise solvent flow ranging from (0,001-10 ml/min), and has an internal degasser, programmable wavelength switching feature to customize detection parameters during the run, as well as a pre-heating module to reduce temperature gradients inside the HPLC column. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The resulting contract will be firm fixed price and the NAICS Code is 334516. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements aforementioned, then firms must furnish detailed information about its products and or services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and or services. This information must be submitted to the Contracting Officer within (9) calendar days from the date of this synopsis publication. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement, to include FDA approval/compliance certification. Information must be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC GLAC, 5000 W. National Ave Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Hitachi High Tech AM, Inc., of San Jose, CA.
