Description

The government is in need of competitiveness/selectivity indices for universities/colleges that meet the following criteria: 1.Index is Nationally known 2.Index covers 4-year accredited colleges and universities 3.Index is created by the publisher of the measure – it is not self-reported by the institution 4.Index is updated on a regular basis 5.Index goes back to 1972 Based upon a review of five published college guides, it is concluded that only the selectivity/competitiveness index of one college guide, Barron’s Educational Series, Inc. meets all five NCES criteria. The intended sole source contract is with: Barron’s Educational Series, Inc. 250 Wireless Boulevard Hauppauge, New York 11788 The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by submitting a proposal. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the posted response date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
