Description
Synopsis Modification dated 19 Jun 08: NSWC Panama City Division, Panama City, Florida intends to solicit competitive proposals for the fabrication of a Safety and Arming Device, MK 75 Mod 1. Quantities are 9 pre-production First Article Safety and Arming Devices, 30-50 production Safety and Arming Devices with Shipping & Storage Containers, and 20 inert loaded Practice Safety and Arming Devices MK 81 Mod 0 with Shipping & Storage Containers. Options include additional Safety and Arming Device production units with Shipping & Storage Containers, inert loaded Practice Safety and Arming Devices MK 81 Mod 0 with Shipping & Storage Containers, and spare parts. The fabrication will be build-to-print. The Safety and Arming Device consists of a mechanical assembly comprised of a machined steel and aluminum housing containing a power spring, a gear driven regulator, an electro-explosive detonator, and two pressed explosive pellets. The Shipping & Storage Container consists of a military specification ammunition box with internal blow-molded packing. All explosive components will be Government furnished. Conduct of Government conformance testing, to include live fire testing, will be included in the solicitation and requested as part of the offerors proposal. Required delivery date for the First Article is 270 days after contract award. Delivery of the first production lot is 180 days after acceptance of First Article. Options will be included for between 60 and 480 Safety and Arming Devices and Shipping & Storage Containers. Delivery of optional production lots will be 150 days after exercising the option.
