Description
This procurement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. NOAA, Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) located in Seattle, WA has a requirement for (50 each)Wind Monitors, high performance, corrosion resistant, four blade helicoid propeller wind speed sensor, propeller rotation produces an AC sine wave voltage signal with frequency directly proportional to wind speed, rugged wind direction sensor, lightweight vane with a sufficiently low aspect ratio to assure good fidelity in fluctuating wind conditions. Vane angle sensed by precision potentiometer housed in a sealed chamber, known excitation voltage applied to the potentiometer, the output voltage is directly proportional to vane angle. A mounting orientation ring assures correct realignment of the wind direction. Made of UV stabilized plastic with stainless steel and anodized aluminum fittings. Precision grade, stainless steel ball bearings are used. Transient protection and cable terminations in a junction box on the mounting post. Can mounts on standard 1 inch pipe. Special waterproof bearing lubricant and a sealed heavy duty cable pigtail in place of the standard junction box. Separate signal conditioning for voltage(0-1 VDC) or current(4-20mA). This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated valeu of less than $100,000. Questions concerning this acquisition may be directed to Randall W. Brown by email at randall.w.brown@noaa.gov. **** The Westren Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registey (CCR) as of October 1, 2003.
