Description
NURSE PRACTIONER- STATEMENT OF WORKExpected period of performance -Immediate opening-60 days Will be expected to see patients between the hours of 8:30 AM thru 12:00 and 1:00 thru 4:00 Monday thru Friday excluding Federal holidays. Established patients are seen in 30 minute appointment slots. New patients will be seen within 1 hour. It is estimated that one and three walk-ins may be seen each day. Will be expected to sign non-VA VNA orders and address the needs of dual-care practices, and respond to outside telephone calls, letters and faxes on the same day they are received. Progress notes should contain sufficient data to vest a patient thereby warranting a CPT code which ends in 3-5. Must strictly adhere to our established pharmacy formulary at all times unless adequate documentation for a non-formulary medication is supplied. Applicant must comply with EPRP, JCAHO, care line, and facility standards and policies. Should expect to work within an established Primary care team and be approachable by any staff members and act in a professional manner. Must be responsive to the Primary Care management team, which will provide an adequate orientation to this medical center and service line. Will be expected to provide coverage of all patients that were followed up on by previous provider and share in the rotation to provide coverage for patients whose provider is on leave. This station's computerized patient record system (CPRS) is used exclusively for documentation and ordering purposes, This includes but is not limited to progress notes, laboratory and radiological orders, specialty consults and medication orders-with the exception of schedule II drugs, which requires paper prescriptions. This is also for tracking patient data from other VA Medical Centers. All notes must be signed within 24 hours of entry. Applicant must meet all agency credentialing requirements and be privileged as an independent provider. Must possess a Masters Degree in Nursing. As is case with other Primary Care Practitioners, the contractor will cover other Primary Care providers when are on leave or unavailable
