In support of this mission NHTSA is requiring the services for the effort entitled, Human Factors Engineering Support for Vehicle Safety Research which require a range of research skills that could be called into use to quickly plan, conduct, and document studies which evaluate how various vehicle-based systems affect driver behavior and performance using experiments in a laboratory setting, simulator, test track, or on public roads. The human factors tests and experiments performed under this IDIQ Contract will provide the support needed by NHTSA to advance deployment of effective advanced driver assistance systems, assure that safety is maintained with existing and new vehicle technologies, evaluate potential regulatory options; and identify potential safety problems.
