- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is a total small business set-aside. This solicitation number is NIHDA2008059 and the solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-25. The associated North American Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 423490 and the small business size standard is N/A. The National Institute on Drug Abuse, Intramural Research Program intends to negotiate and award a purchase order for a Microplate Reader with Spectrometer for full spectrum (220-850 nm) UV/vis absorbance capture in under one second per well and capable of measuring time resolved fluorescence and glow luminescence. The multi-detection microplate reader for life science laboratories, offers the following four detection modes:- Spectrometer for full spectrum (220-850nm) UV/vis absorbance capture in under one second per well.- Fluorescence Intensity - including FRET - Time-Resolved Fluorescence - including DELFIA- High-Performance Luminescence (flash and glow) - including BRET- UV/Vis Absorbance - measurement of complete spectra or individual wavelengthsWith full UV/Vis spectrum absorbance and three other detection modes the multi detection microplate reader provides users with unmatched flexibility and sensitivity to perform any assay needed. Applications include- Ca2+ measurements (e.g. Ca2+ flux with Fura-2, Indo-1, FLUO-3/4)- Enzyme activity- FRET/BRET assays- Cell toxicity, proliferation and viability- Protein and nucleic acid quantitation (e.g. Bradford, Lowry, DNA, 260/280 nm)- ATP quantification- Immunoassays, ELISA- Luciferase, dual luciferase, BRET with sequential dual emission detection, DLReady certified- ORAC and ABEL antioxidant assays- Fluorescent proteins, including FRETs (e.g. CFP/YFP) Offers must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on July 8, 2008.
