Description
The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), located in Arlington, VA, is seeking eligible sources capable of providing inspection services as described below:Provide construction inspection services for a new fish hatchery building of approximately 13,800 square feet, at Jackson NFH, Jackson, Wyoming.Dates of service - Approximately July, 2008 through December, 2009.Magnitude of service - Approximately 1,200 hours over the life of the contract. The workload per week will vary depending upon the construction activities taking place at any given time. The Service anticipates that a greater amount of time will be required during the initial phases of construction (excavation, fill, foundations, and superstructure), than during later phases. Required qualifications for inspector:1.Degree in engineering, architecture, or construction science, with experience inspecting construction, including earthwork, concrete, masonry, piping, and electrical work OR2.A minimum of five years experience as a job superintendent in building construction on projects greater than $1,000,000 OR3.A minimum of ten years experience in construction inspection, or code enforcement, on projects greater than $500,000.Provide documentation of experience, and references for past three years work experience.Duties - inspection of construction to verify compliance with drawings and specifications for all aspects of construction, and advising the Government Contracting Officer of progress and quality of construction.Maintenance of construction documentation, including record copies of drawings and specifications, photographs, and daily logs of construction activity.Verification that the contractor's payment applications correspond with the work in place.Coordination meetings with contractor and Government personnel.The items of construction to be inspected includes but are not limited to:Excavation, placement of fill, and compaction; Cast in place concrete, including formwork and steel reinforcing; Masonry; Rough carpentry and glue-laminated trusses; Interior finish carpentry; Insulation; Metal roofing ;Windows, doors, and hardware ;Interior finishes, including paint, flooring, carpeting, suspended ceilings ; Casework; Elevator; Plumbing; Heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems; Electrical power, lighting, and control systems THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. An amendment will be issued on Monday June 30, 2008 changing the due dates to submit questions in writing and due date to submit quotes.
