Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number GDQ082012 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ) with an open date of June 27, 2008 and close date of July 9, 2008. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 05-25. This is a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside under NAICS 238210 and a size standard of $13.0M.STATEMENT OF WORK - ALBUQUERQUE DISTRICT OFFICE (ADO) Cable PlantWithin the ADO, the network switches, DSU/CSU (Channel Service Unit/Data Service Unit), and demarcation points exist in the computer room. From the computer room, all network connections are routed through the ceiling and distributed to face plates throughout the building. All wiring initiates from a patch panel in the computer room and is routed up through the ceiling. The cabling then fans out to various parts of the building terminating in the work areas with color coded (orange) modular jacks within a face plate. There are insufficient network drops, resulting in numerous hubs being placed throughout the office to add more network connectivity. The cable plant infrastructure upgrade will provide the ADO with sufficient drops for a managed network.Work Requirements: The ADO Network infrastructure must be flexibility to accommodate future network drops into office work areas. As personnel move, the network connections need to be easily available to IT staff to provide network connectivity. Computer Room Wiring - A new wall rack mount and patch panels need to be purchased and placed on an existing back board. The new rack will house (4) new 48 port patch panels, a Cisco Catalyst 4507R switch and a DSU/CSU. The patch panels will be T568B-terminated (Figure 1, Proposed Rack Configuration available upon request). Work Area Wiring - Work areas will vary from one to four network drops in each surface mount box encased in a protective raceway. Each surface mount box will be placed in a convenient location for IT personnel to access. The raceways will be spaced strategically in each work area. All raceways shall match the color of the interior of each office. There are instances where drops will run down power poles. All new cables shall have the same numbering scheme and be labeled the same at each end. All cable runs shall have enough slack to move the wiring 3 feet in either direction. All cabling will hang from J hooks or cable ladders within the false ceiling. (Figure 2, ADO Floor Plan and Figure 3, ADO Warehouse Floor Plans are available upon request). ADO Computer Wiring - All cable runs will terminate in the new patch panels in the computer room. ADO Cable Plant Details - A table containing the quantities and estimated distances for the cable runs within each work area to the computer room (Figure 4, Cable Run Distances) is available upon request. The wiring from computer room will be routed to the work areas in a way that is both functional and still professional in appearance. Wires should not be dangling into office areas. The switch and equipment racks need to be grounded. Upon completion, the contractor shall provide the Contracting Officer's Representative with diagrams of the new cable plant.
