- Description
- Fabricate, assemble, and deliver one horizontally-framed miter gate (two leaves) and appurtenant items. The miter gate shall consist of two leaves, each 61-feet 6 inches from center to center of the thrust-bearing contacts. The gate shall be 65 feet in height, measured from the bottom seal to the top of the walkway. The approximate weight per leaf is 425,000 lbs. The top of the gate shall be provided with a grated aluminum walkway and steel (galvanized) pipe handrailing. Each gate leaf shall be braced on the downstream side, with diagonal members extending from the pintle corner to the upper miter corner and from the lower miter corner to the gudgeon pin corner. Each diagonal shall be adjustable in length by means of a sleeve nut on the lower end of the diagonals, and a torquenut on the upper end. Each gate leaf shall be provided with a pintle assembly (casting and bushing) attached. Each gate leaf (two required) shall be a complete welded structure. All work shall be in accordance with Government provided specifications. Contractors shop drawings shall require the Governments review prior to work. The delivery time is 540 days from Notice of Award. The completed gate leaves shall be delivered via barge standing in the vertical position with the top of the gate up to Meldahl Locks and Dam, Felicity, OH. Due to funding constraints, it is anticipated that this procurement will be subject to EFARS 52.232-5003, Special Continuing Contracts Clause. The contract type will be firm fixed price, competitively bid. This solicitation will only be available on http://www.fbo.gov. You may download the solicitation at the aforementioned website on or about July 11, 2008. This proposed procurement is a 100% Small Business Set-aside.
