Warranty should be for a minimum of 12 months. The CDC Human Papillomavirus program is routinely pursuing HPV genotyping assays with the Linear Array HPV Genotyping Kit (Roche Applied Science). The assays have been proven proven very reliable and sensitive and have become a core of many epidemiological population studies. The current manual process is quite labor intensive and has met the maximum capacity of the available resources. The demand for automation and increased throughput is eminent. The BeeBlot instrument from Bee Robotics, Ltd. automates washing and hybridization steps of strip-based assays like the HPV Genotyping kit. It allows simultaneous processing of 48 samples while requiring minimal labor input and a shorter run time. The BeeBlot meets all technical specifications to directly adapt Roche's HPV genotyping assay and has in fact successfully been evaluated and recommended by Roche Applied Science. Interested parties who feel that they can provide equipment equal to that described above should submit a product specification sheet to support that assertion. Please send your documentation to Melinda James at the office identified above, by fax (770) 488-2668 or email to HFF7@cdc.gov. Documentation should be received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis to be considered by CDC.
