Description
This is the first pre-solicitation notice. Another notice will be issued again prior to the release of the solicitation and will be called the synopsis. The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, located in Annapolis Junction, Maryland anticipates issuance of a solicitation for the removal of the existing Perimeter Products FPS-3 Perimeter Intrusion Detection System and the installation of a new Infinity 2000 Intrusion Detection System, or approved equal, at the Federal Medical Center located in Lexington, KY. Additionally, the successful contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment and expertise needed to replace approximately 2000 linear feet of security perimeter fences and other related components. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This project is unrestricted. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238990 which contains a size standard of $13 million. The period of performance for the resulting contract is 180 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Any contractor interested in obtaining a contract award with the Federal Bureau of Prisons must be registered at www.ccr.gov and http://orca.bpn.gov. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. The successful contractor shall be responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes. No tax exemption certificate will be issued by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The issuance of solicitation IFB LEX-0018 will be on or about July 18, 2008. The solicitation will be distributed through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities web site at www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
