- NOTICE OF INTENT The US Army Medical Command for FORT GORDON has a requirement for SPINAL SURGICAL SET. The Government intends to award a surgical contract for this requirement. The suggested contractor is Medtronic Sofamor Danek USA, 1800 Pyramid Place, Memphis, TN 38132-1719. CLIN # 0001 Urgent Spinal surgical set (Venture & Peek Graft) is needed for surgery on 21 July 08. This requirement is urgent and patient specific only. This item is specified by the doctor for this specific patients need only. The Medtronic Sofamor Danek is the original manufacture of theses items. This spinal set is only marketed by Medtronic Danek they also are the only manufacturer/distributors and the only company that is certified to replace and repair on these surgical items. A surgical set will delivery to Eisenhower Army Medical to dispense for surgery and the parts that are not used will return to the company. The Medtronic Sofamor Danek is the only vendor that can provide these highly specialized items and meets the requirements for this agency. Other technology commercial items cannot perform at the same level of service that is required. This is not a request for proposal. However, companies that can provide this type of surgical items must submit their technical capabilities to include technical specifications of the parts, past performance information, pricing. This information will be reviewed by the Government technical representatives for consideration for future requirements. gd
