Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to enter into sole source negotiations and subsequently award a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Contract to Thales Missile Electronics Limited. This acquisition is for the FY09 procurement of the Multi-Application Fuze Initiation System and Crush Switch for the Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) AGM-154C (Navy and FMS). THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Unless stated herein, no additional information is available. Requests for the same will be disregarded. A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government. GENERAL INFORMATION: The JSOW Multi-Application Fuze Initiation System was designed and developed by Thales Missile Electronics Limited (TME). TME is the sole designer/developer and is the only company with the knowledge, experience and access to the technical data necessary to fulfill the Government's need and meet its schedule requirements. Subcontracting opportunities may be available and should be sought with TME at the following address: Thales Missile Electronics, Mountbatten House Basing View, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG21 4HJ, United Kingdom. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the supplies and services anticipated herein is 332993 “Ammunition (except Small Arms) Manufacturing.” Once NAVAIR finalizes its requirements for the subject effort, a prerequisite for receiving contract award will be registration in the DOD’s Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. For more information on the CCR, contact the CCR Assistance Center at 888-227-2423. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award or awards, or be responsible for any money expended by interested parties before award of a contract for the effort described above. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for or award a contract.
