- Description
- Project consists of the obliteration of approximately 17 miles of road in the South Fork Judith River drainage in the Little Belt Mountains. Methods include scarification/ripping to a minimum depth of 12 inches, recontouring or both. When drainage/riparian areas are encountered, overlying fill material will be pulled back to a more natural channel configuration. Culverts will be removed when applicable. Disturbed areas with heavy compaction will be scarified so the Forest Service can seed. Drainage features will be installed. Woody debris will be pulled onto the road bed after obliteration. Two excavators with hydraulic thumbs with experienced, qualified operators will be required for this project. A forest official will be on-site to assist with the level of obliteration. Anticipated work start is July 28, 2008 with completion within 35 calendar days from date of Notice to Proceed. Scope of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Solicitation will be posted on or about June 30, 2008.
