Description
The contractor shall furnish all of the necessary equipment, labor, supplies, and supervision for entire project. Contractor will demolish and then replace three treated water pump concrete load bearing and distribution pads and pump sub bases motor. See sketch #2 for the specifications for the concrete pads. The existing pads are four inches in height and have a steel plate cover on top of the concrete. The three treated water pump motor sub-bases will need to be faricated prior to start of this project. These sub-bases should be galvanized steel for corrosion protection and symmetrical in design to evenly distribute the motor's rotational load. (see sketch #1). All bolts and anchors should be corrosion protected (galvanized) and will be installed with washers. The flexitallic gaskets should support 10-inch suction and a 6-inch discharge piping. Fabricate the disconnect switch vertical support stands for TWP's#1 and #3. The contractor shall complete the work specified under this contract within 60 days from Notice to Proceed. Failure to complete the contract within the stipulated time shall result in damages of $1000 each day in excess of the 60 days. Prior to bidding this job the contractor is responsible for inspecting the worksite. The contractor shall clean up the work site at the end of each workday. Contractor must submit three references showing their experience with this type of job, along with Resumes for each person working. NOTICE TO BIDDERS The pre-bid conference walk through of some of the construction sites wil be held on July 10, 2008 at 10:00 am at Central Heating and Refrigeration Plant at 13th & C Streets SW WDC. If you are planning to attend pre-bid conference please notify Devona Myles by July 8, 2008 by 3:00pm. Please provide name of Representative attending, name of company and telephone numbers. Hard hats must be worn during the walk through: therefore all prospective offerors are requested to bring hard hats.
