- Desc: NSN: 1240-01-063-1347, P/N: SM-D-805050. The item to procure is a Window, Optical Instrument, for the M1 Abrams. Material; Germanium polished periphery provided. Width: 4.725 inches nominal; Length: 6.00 inches nominal. Thickness: 0.250 inches nominal. Special features: Material used in the manufacture of this optical part shall not contain thorium, other radioactive material or any combination of nuclear materials in excess of 0.05 percent per weight as defined by the Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations Part 40. The infrared antireflective coating is excluded from this restriction and contains thorium approximately.0011 grams per square centimeter of coated surface. Thorium in the antireflective coating should not exceed this amount. FOB destination. This item is for use on the M1 Series Tank. Estimated issue date of the solicitation is 15 Jul 2008. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102 (a) (7) and 14.205-1 (c) therefore hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the Internet: http://aais.ria.army.mil. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above Internet address in order to obtain any amendments, which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal non-responsive and result in the rejection of same.
