Description
This is a Sole Source requirement to EADS North America Defense Company, 1616 North Ft Myer Dr, Suite 1500, Arlington, VA 22209-3100. The Government has a need to enhance the performance and protect the current UH-72As main rotor blades to minimize damage caused by operations in a sand and dust environment. The Government requires the immediate retrofit of approximately ten (10) fielded UH-72A aircraft and the establishment of a new option CLIN for program years 4-10 for the retrofit of UH-72A aircraft with main rotor blade erosion preventative strips. The blade erosion preventative strip consists of blade tape designed for the UH-72A with adhesive to apply the tape to the main rotor blades. The Contractor shall provide maintenance and technical support in the retrofit of the fielded aircraft main rotor blade erosion preventative strip. All erosion strip retrofits, FAA certified or type certificated for the UH-72A, will be installed in accordance with (IAW) the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) processes and procedures. The Contractor shall provide a return to service statement certifying the aircraft is fully mission capable (FMC) post retrofit. EADS-NA owns the proprietary rights to the design of this aircraft. EADS-NA is the sole source provider for Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) and other associated services for the UH-72A. All maintenance and maintenance related actions associated with the UH-72A are provided by EADS through the competitively awarded services contract to include aircraft modifications. POC: Marbara Blocker, Contract Specialist, at 256-842-7504 or Bridgett Helem, Contracting Officer at 256-876-5610.
