Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Alcohol abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, with Tech Imaging Services, 27 Congress Street, Suite 406, Salem, MA 01970 to procure a high-speed camera with controlling software, Fastcam-X 1024 PCI 1KM. This is a computer-based monochrome high-speed video system with full resolution (1024X1024) up to 1,000fps. This equipment includes a camera head PCI control board, 5m cable with trigger output, strobe output, operation software and standard memory (2GB). Tech Imaging Services is the only known source capable of providing the required high-speed camera. This action is under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other equipment of this nature will satisfy agency requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received before the closing date of this announcement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that Request for Quotations (RFQ), NIHDK2008041 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ.
