Description
This is a Sole Source requirement to EADS North America Defense Company, 1616 North Ft Myer Dr, Suite 1500, Arlington, VA 22209-3100. The Government has a need to provide internal cooling of the cockpit and cabin during MEDEVAC missions in high operating temperature environments on the Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), UH-72A. The Government requires the retrofit of ten (10) UH-72A aircraft with the ECU modification and the establishment of a new option CLIN for program years 3-10 for the retrofit of up to 100 UH-72A aircraft. The ECU consists of (i) a condenser, (ii) compressor, (iii) three evaporators, with all required coolant plumbing, and, (iv), a venting system for both the cockpit and cabin areas. The Contractor shall provide maintenance and technical support in the retrofit of the ECU modification for ten aircraft (the U. S. Military Academy (2); and eight MEDEVAC aircraft assigned to the Virginia National Guard (6) at Fort Belvoir, and the Vermont National Guard (2)). The Contractor shall install the ECU retrofit in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) processes and procedures. The Contractor shall provide a return to service statement certifying the aircraft is fully mission capable (FMC) post retrofit. All maintenance and maintenance related actions associated with the UH-72A are provided by EADS through the competitively awarded services contract to include aircraft modifications.
