- Correction: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) is #VS569280 which replaces the previous solicitation # VS470574 and incorporates provisions and clauses through FAC 2005-26. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The NAICS Code/Size Standard is 423830/500. This solicitation is being modified to restrict bidding to Small Business Set- Aside. Attached is a question and answer list along with a drawing for specifications for the pallet racks. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC, is interested in obtaining the following: 1) 103 each- Pallet rack upright (end pieces) width: 3 inches by 1 5/8 inches; depth 42 inches and height is 12 feet. 19,380 lb capacity; 2) 48 each-Pallet rack beams length 48 inches with connectors welded to them so that they can attach into the upright frame capacity 4, 430 per pair evenly distributed ; 3) 142 each- Beams 102 inches in length with connectors welded to them so that they can attach into the upright frame, 5,373 lbs per pair evenly distributed; 4) 71 each-Wire decking 52 inches wide by 42 inches deep with three channels-capacity of 2, 330 lbs each; 5) 89 each-Wire decking 46" wide by 42 inches deep with three channels capacity of 2,300 lbs each; 6) 27 each- Post protectors 12 inches high; 7) 1 Lot- Installation of pallet racks and wire decks; 8) 1 each-Pallet rack backing 38'. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Quotes should include all line items and quantities, including shipping. Delivery/Installation of requested items is to NIEHS, South Campus, 111 TW Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709. Offeror should quote FOB Destination. The following provision applies to this acquisition: 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors. There are no additional addenda. FAR Clause 52.212-2 Evaluation-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provisions at 52.212-3, Offeror Representation and Certification-Commercial with offers. FAR Clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The following paragraphs of 52.212-5 apply: (a) and (1; 5;16-19)-(26-27)(29)(34). Defense Priorities and Allocations Systems (DPAS) does not apply. Offers are due no later than 10:00 a.m. EDT, Monday, July 7, 2008 to Ms. Valarie K. Sims, NIEHS, OA, Simplified Acquisitions Branch.
