Description
BACKGROUND: The U.S. Air Force, Air Combat Command (ACC), currently has individual contracts at each of its 16 installations across the United States for vehicle barrier maintenance. Under each of these contracts, the contractor provides qualified vehicle barrier inspectors and maintenance repair personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on the installation vehicle barriers. Contractors are required to perform work during scheduled (routine monthly maintenance) and unscheduled repair (emergency) visits. POTENTIAL NEED: The purpose of this announcement is to identify market capability, interest, and cost effectiveness on a proposed standardization of ACC installation vehicle barrier maintenance contracts. ACC AMIC/PKA is seeking to possibly award a single contract to provide vehicle barrier inspection and related equipment maintenance and repairs to approximately 16 Air Force installations. The contractor shall provide qualified vehicle barrier inspector and maintenance repair personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on the installation vehicle barriers as listed in the attached Performance Work Statement (PWS). Please note the attached PWS is a rough draft only. If you have an interest in this potential requirement, you are requested to submit a written summary of the items noted below. Written replies shall be forwarded to Mr. Phillip Nease (ACC AMIC/PKA) at phil.nease@langley.af.mil no later than 15 July, 2008 (Telephone 757-225-7699). This information will be used for market research purposes only and will not be used as a part of proposal evaluation later. Written Replies Shall Include: 1.) Degree of experience in providing same or similar services; 2.) Business size (Large or Small - Socio-Economic Status: Woman-owned small business, Hubzone, Service-Disabled Veteran, etc.); 3.) If you are a Small Business, please note whether you have the capability of performing at least 50 percent of the cost of contract performance; 4.) Rough order of magnitude based on draft PWS in its current state; and 5.) Opinion on the cost effectiveness of such a consolidation
