Description
Pre-solicitation notice - NAIC code 562910 for procurement of environmental remediation services for one third of surficial mine waste at the Baxter Springs and Treece subsites at the Cherokee County Superfund site in southeastern Kansas. The selected remedy consists of excavation, consolidation, and disposal of surficial mining wastes and associated soils contaminated with heavy metals. It also includes subaqueous disposal of mine waste into collapse features at the two subsites. This requirement will be issued as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB)set-aside. The contractor shall be required to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Remediation will be conducted pursuant to the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), as amended by the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA), and National Contingency Plan (NCP) requirements. EPA anticipates issuing a firm fixed price contract consisting of a Base year and 3 Option Years which will contain incentives for performance of these services. Estimated dollar value for this procurement if all Option Years are exercised is $20 million. The IFB is anticipated to be issued on or about July 20, 2008.
