Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Point Mugu, CA intends to negotiate and award a firm fixed price contract using other than full and open competition. Negotiations will be conducted with Jopana Technologies, Inc., Camarillo, CA in order to procure TACAN Adapter Mounts Units (TAM) to include 70 installation units, 5 spare units and 5 circuit board assemblies; and 1 Lot Interim Spares consisting of 1 EA Chassis Assembly # 153TAM-101W, 3 EA Power Supply #VI-27L-IW, 6 EA Power Supply #VI-J71-IY, 1 EA Power Supply Circuit Assembly # TAMPWR01, 1 EA AC-DC Converter Module Solid State Relay #TAMPWR02 and 5 EA Main Circuit Board Assembly #TAM01 for use on the EA-6B aircraft. Under Wyle engineering contract N68936-05-D-0007, Jopana Technologies, Inc. a subcontractor, performed the non-recurring engineering and lab test of engineering development models of the TAM. The prototype TAMs are currently undergoing environmental and EMI testing prior to production and formal aircraft Developmental Testing which will result in final hardware and software changes to the TAM design during July 2008 with fleet introduction in November 2008. The limited time between final hardware and software changes and necessary fleet introduction does not allow the government to provide a sufficient technical data package and conduct competitive procurement in time to meet Fleet introduction in Nov 2008. The government anticipates award during Sep 2008. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any firm other than Jopana Technologies, Inc. should respond in accordance with Numbered Notes 22, 26.Place of Performance = N/A
