Description
This is a Notice of Intent: The United States Coast Guard (USCG) intends to award on a sole source basis to: North American Rescue Products Incorporated, 481 Garlington Rd. STE A, Greenville, SC 29615-4619. The proposed acquisition is for purchasing Individual First Aid Kits (IFAK) Part# 800149. The kits must contain the following items: Combat application tourniquet (CAT); emergency (Israeli) bandage; nasal trumpet airway; Asherman chest seal; Vaseline gauze, Vacuum sealed kling dressing; tape, 3 inch nylon; Surgi lube; Sharpie black marker; case individual treatment kit. The IFAK case must have the following characteristics: black and desert/coyote; must be smaller than 8”x8”x6” (D); leg strap as well as MOLLE attachments; must unzip and open flat (180 degrees); must incorporate a water resistant zipper and drain hole; all items must be retrievable from the bag with one hand; weight must be no more than two pounds. The Vaseline gauze can be of any kind however it must fit easily in the kit and the nasopharyngeal airway can be of any kind as long as it is 28 french and fits in the kit. All other items must be specifically as listed above. The United States Coast Guard plans on purchasing a total of 3,185 kits. The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard (NAICS) code is 423450 with Size Standard of 100. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals however; interested persons may identify their interest and capability to meet the government requirements and will be taken into consideration. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.303-1.
