- Description
- PM IED Defeat/Protect Force is seeking sources for the production of a non- developmental roller attachment for military vehicles that can integrate Improvised Explosive Device Defeat technologies. The roller is a front mounted full width device that provides down pressure in front of the vehicle to detonate buried explosive devices. Attachment would be integrated with the MMPV (Medium Mine Protection Vehicle). Interested respondents should include information that answers the following questions in a white paper format: 1.Do you have a non-developmental roller attachment that can be used on the MMPV that incorporates the following characteristics into the design: front mounted full width, approximate width of a MMPV, is capable of standoff detonation of surface laid and buried pressure activated trigger mechanisms on primary and secondary roads and fair weather, loose-surface roadways (trails), can provide downward force to initiate pressure activated trigger mechanisms. The system should also provide maximum front road coverage, capable of quick disconnect, able to steer, able to brake, able to negotiate rough terrain, modular replacement, able to be towed, maximum standoff, forward force and downward force are dependent on the capability of the host vehicle and shall not degrade the host vehicles performance by no more than 25%. The roller systems shall be capable of activating antitank mines and antipersonnel mines, surface laid and buried flush with surface trigger mechanisms at 12KPH. 2.What delivery schedule would you be able to sustain and at what quantity levels (ex. 40 units a month or 10 units a week; 50 units every 25 days; etc.)? 3.What is your quality control process?4.Do you have the ability, in-house or sub-contracted, to package the units for air freight travel?
