- July 3, 2008Notice to Sole Source This is a notice of intent of The Louis Stokes Cleveland, Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 10000 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, Ohio 44141 to negotiate sole source with Smith & Nephew for the procurement of a versajet power console. The government believes that only one business can satisfy the agency requirements because the versajet system incorporates a unique proprietary hydro-surgery technology. The versajet is the only unit that is able to debride and remove necrotic tissue via a layer method. The Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302 - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). (NAICS 339113 and size standard 500). Other persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement within seven calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information will be used solely for determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. No solicitation document will be made available and telephone requests will not be accepted. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the government. A determination by the government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. All inquiries must be submitted by email to Contract Specialist Glen E. Johnson at glen.johnson@va.gov by July 14, 2008 @ 12:00 P.M. (Noon E.S.T.) procurement close date. If no responses are received to this notice Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, will precede to sole source this requirement to Smith & Nephew.
