Description
PLEASE SEE EDITS/ADDITIONS BELOW, REFERENCING THE SITE VISIT AND THE POSTING DATE OF THE SOLICITATION. On or about 8 July 2008, this office will issue Request for Proposals for construction of the CONVERT HANGAR FOR UAV CORROSION CONTROL. The solicitation will close on or about 8 August 2008. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work (Hanger 605 at Grand Forks AFB) should contact Trev Albright, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Minot Resident Office, Telephone: (701)727-6127 by 14 July 2008 at 1300 hours local time. The site visit is scheduled for 16 July 2008 at 1300 hours local time. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESS INTERESTS ONLY. The North American Industry Classification System code for this project is 236220 with a size standard of $31 million in average annual receipts. Site visits may be requested. Provisions in the solicitation documents will provide points of contact, access requirements and other pertinent information. See “Obtaining Solicitation Documents” below. Project Description: This is a Fully-Designed Project. The work consists of converting the existing hangar, Building 605, for use as a corrosion control facility for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). The work shall include renovation of the existing ventilation system, replacing all four of the fan motor assemblies with new 125HP electric Vane Axial Direct Drive Fan Units, replacing all four of the tower stack damper assemblies, replacing energy recovery coils, replacing the existing HVAC control system with new electronic programmable controls that will interface with the existing base-wide Energy Management and Control System (EMCS), and replacing the existing soft start motor controllers with new Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s) and local control transformers for control circuits; and revisions to the electrical system to support mechanical repairs. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000.
