- Description
- The VA Maryland Health Care System at the VA Medical Center, Perry Point, Maryland, is seeking the services of a qualified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business to provide all labor, materials, equipment and supervision required to renovate a portion of the first floor medical ward in Building 19H to comply with all VA patient privacy and space criteria. This work includes re-configuration of the space, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, Nurse Call, medical gas and various other items. The project will replace HVAC systems in approximately 75% of the building space including work on all floors. The project will add an emergency generator to the building along with all associated switches, panels and other equipment. In addition to emergency power, the main distribution electrical panel will be replaced and extended to all new and existing panels in the building. Work will also include renovation of swing space on the 4th floor of Building 23H. Work will be phased in order that critical patient care functions may remain in operation in portions of the building during construction. All work is to be completed within 600 calendar days after date of receipt of notice to proceed. This includes final inspection and clean-up. The NAICS code for this procurement is 236220. To be considered a small business under this code the SBA size standard must not exceed $31.0 Million. The construction cost range for this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The solicitation package will be posted on FedBizOps, which can be accessed at https://www.fbo.gov on or about July 28, 2008. The Government will not provide paper copies of the solicitation. Telephone, written, facsimile, or e-mail requests for the solicitation will not be honored. Potential bidders MUST register at FedBizOpps www.fbo.gov in order to receive notification and/or changes to the solicitation. Potential bidders are responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation package and any other pertinent information and for downloading their own copy of the solicitation package. The Interested Vendors List (IVL) will be activated and may be accessed and printed from the FedBizOpps website. Prospective bidders who would like their company name included on the IVL list may do so on the FedBizOpps website under IVL. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for August 12, 2008, at 1:00 PM EDT. The bid opening will be on or about August 28, 2008. The deadline for receipt of questions is 7 calendar days prior to bid opening. All questions must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer. All interested parties MUST be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database and VetBiz Vendor Information Pages (VIP) and have completed Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) prior to bid opening.
