- Description
- The oven and griddle are appliances called for in the United States Marine Corp (USMC) Statement of Need (SON) for an Expeditionary Field Kitchen (EFK). The SON requires that the EFK adhere to the one burner concept of the USMC. The one burner concept requires all new USMC acquisition programs to make use of Babingtons Airtronic burner when a burner is called for in the system. This concept allows the USMC to train and provision for one burner only and minimizes operation and support costs. Babington has proprietary control of who can purchase their burners for use in appliances. Babington is also uniquely qualified to insert the burners into appliances because they manufacture the burner and are more familiar with the characteristics of the burner than any other entity.
