- Description
- The U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area, has a project entitled "Replace Emergency Generator" at USDA-ARS-MWA, Prairie du Sac, WI. The work includes but is not limited to: furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work for the replacement of the existing emergency generators. The project generally consists of the replacement of the existing generator serving the facility and associated emergency electrical distribution system modifications. The scope of work includes, but not limited to, installation and testing of a new exterior mounted emergency generator; installation of new emergency distribution panel; installation of metering equipment to monitor load on generator; replacement of two manual transfer switches with new automatic transfer type; associated electrical to switchover existing emergency circuits to new generator / emergency distribution panel; and the removal of existing generator and associated distribution equipment. The completion of the scope of work will need to be thoroughly coordinated with the location to prevent interruption of facility’s milking operations. The procurement of the project includes base bid and bid options. The period of performance is 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP). The Magnitude of Construction is estimated between $100,000 to $150,000. SET-ASIDE: This acquisition will be procured as a full and open competition under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. All responsible Businesses may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS code is 238210 and the annual size standard is 13 million. This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-26. Solicitation No. AG-5114-S-08-AA10 is scheduled for uploading on or about July 18, 2008. The solicitation will be posted on the FedBizOpps website at www.fedbizopps.gov. No paper copies of the solicitation will be issued. It is the responsibility of the contractor to check the website for the solicitation, as well as any amendments that may arise. A pre-bid site visit will be scheduled and information provided in the solicitation package. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid. Sealed bids will be due by 2:00 PM on August 19, 2008. A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror who submits the lowest bid. Contractors are required to register or update their registration at the Central Contractor Registration website at www.ccr.gov in order to receive a contract award under this solicitation, and register or update their registration at the Online Representation and Certification Application website at http://orca.bpn.gov.
