- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division, Panama City, FL (NSWC PCD), intends to award a sole-source firm-fixed price contract to Shapes Aerospace International,1415 Foundation Park Boulevard SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909 for twelve (12) each Hydraulic Oil Tanks Part Number 262-5749508-069 Rev N. These items will be installed on the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) as part of the Service Life Extension Program (SLEP). This acquisition is unsuitable for full and open competition for the following reasons. Shapes Aerospace International is the original equipment manufacturer of this item used in the LCAC machinery system. As this is replacement equipment, there must be 100% form, fit and function to ensure operational compatibility with the existing LCAC equipments. Use of any other equipment would severely impact the crafts mission. Currently, Shapes Aerospace International is the only manufacturer of this specific item that meets these requirements.
