- The Department of Veterans Affairs has requirement for services for a base period plus one option year. The project is to prepare complete final National Register of Historic Places nominations for the five (5) subject national cemeteries: Alton National Cemetery, IL Fort McPherson National Cemetery, NE Fort Richardson National Cemetery, AK Quincy National Cemetery, IL, Sitka National Cemetery, AK. These national cemeteries were formally established between 1873 and 1942, but burials in them date to the 1860s and the Civil War. Relevant themes include but are not limited to: Civil War, World War II, U.S. Army and VA policy, and veteran demographics/benefits. This work includes undertaking historical research using primary/secondary documents and other standard techniques as needed, at local or Washington, D.C.-area repositories; analyzing historic records; verify existing data or conduct inventories of historic resources, as determined by NCA; assuring the accuracy and completeness of all inventory and research data; and organizing support material (digital photographs, maps, UTMs, etc.) for submission to the National Park Service. In addition to the NRHP nominations, the two Alaska national cemeteries require historic-resource inventories in advance of preparing the NRHP nominations and making large-format (5"x7"), black-and-white photographs that meet Historic American Landscape Survey (HALS) standards. This is a 100% small business set aside, NAICS 541690, $6.5 million.
