Description
The United States Postal Service is conducting a prequalification evaluation to identify an adequate number of suppliers (“Best of The Best”) to compete in an upcoming solicitation to provide sealed trailer one-way transportation services. It is important that you submit the following information as requested. Documentation submitted must be thorough and complete. The Postal Service is not required to contact you to get additional information or clarification regarding the information that you submit. Overview: The solicitation to be issued is to procure transportation of units, containing mail or empty equipment, between two points (“segments," also known as “lanes”). The offeror will provide service beginning on or about 10/01/2008 should the USPS require it. If awarded, the contract(s) will be awarded as an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a fixed price for a term of 2-years. Services on this contract are by demand (the USPS may or may not use service on each day). However, the offeror must have service available according to the stated frequency for a segment. The USPS intends to use an on-line competitive bidding event process, using an optimization tool (CombineNet). The event will consist of two solicitations: Mail (identified as A”, “C", “D” "G", or "Y”) Segments and Mail Transport Equipment (MTE) (identified as “E”) Segments.
