- Description
- The Department of the Interior (DOI), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) has a requirement for approximately 4,200 each, National Fire Equipment Standard hand held, stubby, and "Hot-shot fire flares and cartridges. The flares are critical to the safety of our wildland fire employees and meeting their responsibilities to protect life and property. The BLM intends to enter into a negotiated contract with the firm of Ansul, Inc. Dba. Wildfire, Portland, OR. The estimatedl value of this requirement is $98,600.00. Wildfire is the sole manufacturer of these flares and exclusive dealer of these specific items. For the above-stated reasons, the circumstances permitting other than full and open competition as cited in 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1), and FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements" are germane to this procurement.
